Quite often people ask me why I prefer to shoot film. I can never find the right words, but I can always show them. Allison and Teddy's photos are a testament of this. I was glued to my monitor when these images arrived and you can't even imagine how difficult it was to narrow them down for this blog entry. In celebration of Mother's Day (this Sunday!), I thought I'd share this beautiful maternity session. I met Allison and Teddy about an hour before the sun set. Before they arrived, I had been spending my late afternoon watching Oliver enjoy the beach for the first time. His small feet and hands touching the sand. His hair curling up by the salty water. He splashed with an amount of excitement that I had never witnessed before in his ten months. I captured this all on my camera (I will share them soon!) and I'm so grateful that I did. I know that had it been any other day that we would have taken him, those moments would have been captured by our iPhones. Haha! I was completely taken by these sweet moments that as soon as I saw Allison and Teddy, I was so pumped to capture their own special time on that very same beautiful day.
They are two of the kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting through my work. I can't wait to meet their little one next month! Isn't Allison the most gorgeous mommy-to-be? I know I never looked half as good while I was pregnant. Haha! I need some tips!
